The Democratic Party is a political party of the United States of America. It was founded on January 8, 1828. Both parties (Republican and Democratic) give a tough fight to each other. Well, this party is the oldest political party in the world. Till date, there have been 15 Presidents from the Democratic Party. The blue color represents the party.

Who is leading Democratic Primary? 

Joe Biden is currently leading the party by 1,217 delegates and 914 have been declared in favor of Bernie Sanders. However, 2,302 delegates have been declared and for winning the nomination 1,991 delegates are required. The Chairperson of the party is Tom Perez and the speaker of the house is Nancy Pelosi. Steny Hoyer is the House Majority Leader while Chuck Schumer is the Senate Minority Leader.

The ideology of the democratic party revolved around rural interests and farmers. They came up to support labor unions along with ethnic and religious minorities as well. It has always stood against progressive income taxes that have been favored, unregulated finance and business too. The party in the 21st century is actually a coalition of progressives, liberals as well as centrists.

The DNC (popularly known as “Democratic National Committee“) looks after all the promotional activities of the party. It also focuses on the organizational strategy more than public policy. The framework of the Democratic National Committee calls for 12 debates. The last one will be going to held in April. Since the CoronaVirus pandemic has taken the world by storm and the U.S.A has the highest number of infected patients as of now, it is highly doubtful that the 12th debate will actually occur. Democratic Primary Election

The Democratic Primary is now going to held on June 23, 2020. The date has been shifted due to the worse condition of the country. Governor Andrew Cuomo made this announcement on Saturday. Cuomo said that an executive order will be issued for delaying the vote and hence will be aligned with legislative and congressional primaries. In 2016 elections, Hillary Clinton officially nominated for president and Virginia Senator Tim Kaine for vice president by Democratic National Convention. This time it may be Joe Biden in 2020 elections. So, Let’s see who will going to rule over the elections.
